About Me.....My Story

Its only fair if you are reading this you know who you are reading about

My name is Seamus Corry, I live in Scotland currently and I have lived here for the past nearly 17 years.

I first came to Scotland in April 1996 after making the momentus decision to leave The Irish Catholic Priesthood. I trained as a priest for 6 years and was ordained in 1994

By 1996 I had become at odds with the Church and I felt called by the universe to go on another journey. The thought of this nearly became my end but I stuck in and went through the trial of having to leave home, friends, Ireland and the career which I thought God had called me to........ I know now there was bigger plans afoot for me

When the plane landed in Edinburgh on theat day the 29th April 1996 just after 6pm in the evening as I stepped off for the first time in my life I experienced a feeling of this is where I should be, I was funnily home.

Loaded only with my passport and two suitcases I stayed in Scotland intitally knowing nobody not even me. I spent some time in the comfort of Nunraw Abbey near Haddington  finding out who I was, sometimes in agony as I began to let go of the old me and take on the new fragile me

After three months I left the monastic setting and entered the marketplace in Central Scotland . I was determined to make a go of my new life, commit myself to a life of learning, take every new opportunity make friends and influence people

The rest as they say is History and you can reading my work history here

I have never looked back, my initial failed career was only the start of my lifelong journey which really in honesty began when I took my first fragile steps as a child......I have kept walking, learning, growing developing commited to be the best I can be so that others too can experience the power of living a full life that I have.

I have been many things in the last 17 years,  Priest, Preacher, husband, father, divorcee, trainer, assessor, junior executive, Project co-ordinator, facilitator, friend, supporter, charity fundraiser, takeaway driver, actor, musician, wow its been some journey so far.

Alot of people ask me do I still believe. Yes I believe.... I believe we have all got an amazing power within us that for some of us lays untapped......I have tapped just the surface of mine and I can honestly say its been life changing

Its not been easy, there has been agony, lonliness, homelessness, heartache along the way but that has been balanced by love, support friendship, and life changing experiences

Right now in my life I am involved supporting our Young People in Falkirk to tap into there potential there power to replace apathy with direction and goal power for the future. I am honoured and humbled to work with an amazing team for an amazing organisation and Charity

  2. Well that clarifies why we are now colleagues that have become good supportive friends in such a short time, or is it really a short time........... (hence the tense used). Keep the faith and the light burning. It is much needed in these days.

Received from my colleague and Friend Lynda who is bringing her own area alive
