1 Day Facilitator Meet on June 4th 2013

Hi all

We are so looking forward to seeing you on 4th June at the Facilitator Forum. The day serves as both an informative event but also as a celebration of TPI's outstanding facilitator base. 

For your information I include once more the detail of the venue and timings of the day. We also have some additional information for you to consider and some preparation for the session that will maximise the benefit of having so many skilled facilitators in one place!

The session will run from 9.30am to 4pm.

In order to ensure the day is a great success it would be fabulous to set some goals together. To that effect Anne Brannan, who will be leading the session, has asked whether you could email her any requests you may have in terms of resources, concept reviews or specific networking points that you would like to address. In addition please consider the following question, "What are the main challenges you face in delivering programmes and how have you overcome them?" We will be working to address these collaboratively during the session so it would be very useful to have these in advance to help structure the session. Anne's email address is anne_brannan@btinternet.com.

Be ready to share the  successes you have had with your programmes. If you have any stories, pictures or video feedback that you would like to share, it would be great if you could bring this with you (if you have these electronically we can project these as well).

Can also you please bring a closing activity that you might use at the end of a delivery with you, to share with the group. There may not be time to use all of these on the day, in which case we will compile and send out the various examples to everyone following the event.

We miss the flowers from trying to reach our destination

I remember once being in a training session and hearing the following quote

"We sometimes miss the smell of flowers from trying to reach our destination. We have to stop to smell them."

This is what I am doing today right now stopping and smelling them.

I am lucky blessed and affirmed in so many ways. I have a beautiful amazing loving stunningly georgous partner who loves me beyond love. I have an amazing career supporting young people to be better than they think they are. I have an amazing circle of friends who support me and in times of need I can ask and receive help from.

I am looking out my window in my beautiful home as the mist falls gently on the Ochil Hills these same hills that William Wallace and Rob Roy McGregor walked upon.... steeped in history. I have so many blessings in my life and I want to thank the God as I understand God to be and the universe for all that has come and continues to come into my life.

My Life today seems like a planet away from the life and career I once had in Ireland. I was selected to become a priest and I believed form a very youg age I was "called" by God. From the time I could walk to my Damascus event when I fell from the horse of my life as I thought I knew it my life was mapped out planned and plotted.

When I left the priesthood I became homeless, no longer welcome, an exile, and immigrant,  friends I thought I knew fell away only Andy my one true friend stayed close and for that I will be eternally grateful to him for that.

This was indeed a dark time in my life the darkest I have ever experienced. I went to the cliff edge and considered the possibility of jumping rather than sticking it out. Something within me compelled me to stay on terra firma and despite the pain, the heartache, feeling at times totally alone, I stuck it out and began to build a new life.

I am glad I have because today I have so much love support friendship true friendsip of a lasting kind with an ever growing network of contacts amazing life experiences, happier memories.

The point I make is this pain will pass and there is always light in the tunnel and I share this story with you not to brag but to enable you through my own witness that this is true. Just believe
